On 3rd October 2025, PRIME Meghalaya, through its Partnerships Sector, in collaboration with the Commissioner of Taxes, conducted a GST Workshop to help entrepreneurs gain practical insights into India’s taxation system.
The session, led by Shri B. F. L. Kynshi, Superintendent of Taxes, provided participants with a clear understanding of how Goods and Services Tax (GST) affects their businesses and how to stay compliant.
Workshop Highlights
- Understanding the basics of GST and when registration is required (turnover above ₹20 lakhs).
- Explanation of India’s destination-based tax system and interstate taxation.
- Overview of the GST Council and its decision-making structure.
- Detailed breakdown of CGST, SGST, UTGST, and IGST and their applications.
- Guidance on GST administration and using the GSTN common portal.

A total of 37 entrepreneurs attended the workshop, gaining valuable clarity on taxation procedures and compliance — essential for managing and scaling their ventures responsibly.
