The 7th Act East Business Show, held from 25th to 27th March 2025, served as a platform to promote investment opportunities in Meghalaya and foster economic linkages with BBIN and ASEAN nations. The event, co-organized by MiPA, ICC, Invest India, and PRIME Startup Hub, showcased the state’s priority sectors, including agriculture and food processing, IT and emerging technologies, and sustainable tourism and medical tourism.
Day 1 – Inaugural Ceremony & Round Table with German Delegation
- The event was inaugurated with addresses from ASEAN and BBIN delegates, ICC representatives, and Meghalaya officials.
- MiPA CEO presented the state’s investment potential, attracting interest from international delegations and Indian business leaders.
- A Round Table Meeting with the German Delegation was held, where state officials and international representatives discussed collaboration in manufacturing, IT, and sustainable development.
Day 2 – Sectoral Sessions on Innovation, Technology & Trade

- Highlighted the Tech Park in Meghalaya and the government’s support for startups.
- Emphasized collaboration between education institutions, startups, and tech companies.

- Discussed agriculture, livestock, food processing, and manufacturing sectors.
- Showcased innovative Meghalaya-made products and their potential for global markets.
- Encouraged cross-border trade via business meets, exhibitions, and export schemes.
Day 3 – Tourism & Medical Tourism
Session: North East India Travel, Tourism & Hospitality
- Stressed sustainable tourism practices with active input from the Responsible Tourism Society of India (RTSOI).
- Proposed actions: guidelines for adventure sports, training for operators, and international partnerships.
Session: Medical Tourism in Northeast India
- Emphasized potential to attract international patients and build Meghalaya as a medical tourism hub.
- Covered traditional healing systems, telemedicine, and hospitality training.
- Proposed: creation of a Medical Tourism Board, improved infrastructure, and PPP models for implementation.
