From 9th to 12th October 2025, the PRIME Meghalaya team, together with the State Resource Centre on Disability Affairs (SRCDA) and five Persons with Disabilities (PWD) entrepreneurs, proudly represented Meghalaya at the International Purple Fest 2025 in Panaji, Goa — a global celebration of inclusion and accessibility.
Showcasing Meghalaya’s Craftsmanship
Visitors were captivated by Meghalaya’s diverse handmade creations — from bamboo and cane handicrafts to stone artwork, crochet and embroidery pieces, and eco-friendly jute bags. Each item reflected the state’s rich tradition of artistry and sustainable innovation.
All five entrepreneurs successfully sold their products and forged valuable market connections with national buyers and organizations — paving the way for new business opportunities beyond Meghalaya.

Strengthening Inclusive Collaboration
The PRIME and SRCDA team, led by Smti. R. Passah, Smti. B. Warshong, Dr. N. P. Laloo, Shri. Dylan Robby Jones Syiem, and Shri. W. Jefferson Rani, also met with Shri. Taha Haaziq, Secretary of the State Commission for Persons with Disabilities (Goa).
The discussion explored a potential collaborative partnership between the Governments of Meghalaya and Goa, including the possibility of hosting an edition of the International Purple Fest in Meghalaya.

Driving Inclusion and Entrepreneurship
PRIME Meghalaya, in collaboration with SRCDA, continues to champion inclusive entrepreneurship by empowering PWD entrepreneurs with market exposure, networking opportunities, and visibility — building a more inclusive and sustainable economy for all.
