On 16th January 2026, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) celebrated 10 years of the Startup India Initiative on the occasion of National Startup Day at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event was held in the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, as the Chief Guest.
The programme was further graced by Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry; Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, Government of India; and Shri Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. Prominent entrepreneurs and Shark Tank India investors, including Aman Gupta (Co-founder, boAt), Ritesh Agarwal (Co-founder, OYO), and Mohit Yadav (Founder, Minimalist), were also present at the event.
Marking a proud moment for the state, a Certificate of Appreciation was conferred under the States’ Startup Ecosystem Ranking (5th Edition), recognizing Meghalaya as a Leader for its outstanding efforts in building a strong and vibrant startup ecosystem. This recognition reflects the state’s continued commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and startup-led growth.
