On October 14th, 2023, the Grand Finale of the PRIME Music Incubation program, organized by the Durama Association of Arts and Music (DAMA) and PRIME Meghalaya, brought Asanang in West Garo Hills alive with incredible music and talent. The event saw an impressive turnout, with an enthusiastic audience gathering to celebrate and support 18 local artists and bands who showcased their growth after six months of incubation.
In a thrilling finale, the first place was awarded to Chegim Durama from Tura, followed by Snam X Kohobodi in second, and G-Hills Finest in third. These winners earned an exciting lineup of prizes: the top two will receive free music videos, and the first-place winner will also embark on a tour of the Northeast. All three will have the opportunity to record an Extended Play (EP) and produce a live performance video, further supporting their musical journeys.
Adding to the energy of the night, well-known local bands Da Suraka, Nokpante, and Riprap filled the venue with their unique sound, alongside guest performer Ardon Megh from Nagaland.
The celebration continued beyond the music with a Mini Bazaar, where stalls showcased local clothing, food, beverages, accessories, and more. It was a night filled with rhythm, culture, and community, offering the perfect platform for audiences to relax, enjoy, and witness the rising stars of Meghalaya’s music scene.
