The three-day Peer Learning Workshop in Bangalore from the 6th – 8th November 2024, hosted by the Atal Innovation Mission, brought states and union territories from across India together to focus on strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship at the state level. The event served as a dynamic platform for government representatives, innovation leaders, and ecosystem builders to exchange ideas, strategize, and share visions for creating more impactful regional entrepreneurship frameworks.
A central takeaway from the workshop was the potential of regional clusters—networks designed to encourage the exchange of best practices, spotlight emerging trends, and foster collaborative knowledge-sharing. These clusters are seen as key to supporting innovation from the ground up, enabling states and union territories to build interconnected ecosystems that drive growth and resilience.
Among the workshop’s highlights was a presentation by Nathaniel Kharkongor, Senior Manager of Funding at PRIME Meghalaya. Kharkongor offered an in-depth look into Meghalaya’s Startup Ecosystem, discussing PRIME’s initiatives and how Atal Community Innovation Centers (ACICs) can contribute to shaping and enhancing Meghalaya’s entrepreneurial landscape. His insights provided valuable context on the unique challenges and opportunities within the region, emphasizing ACICs as hubs for collaboration, capacity building, and resource access for local startups.
The workshop not only facilitated insightful discussions but also reinforced the collective commitment to fostering innovation across India’s diverse regions. As participants returned to their respective states, the spirit of collaboration, regional knowledge-sharing, and grassroots empowerment marked a promising path forward for India’s innovation landscape.
