Activities Conducted/Event Summary:
PRIME Partnership Sector, in collaboration with FITT-IIT Delhi, conducted a one-day Samsung Solve for Tomorrow workshop at Mawngap District Christian Multipurpose Higher Secondary School. A total of 131 students from Class 11 Arts and Science streams participated in the event. The workshop was facilitated by two resource persons from William Carey University.
The session began with a brief introduction to the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow initiative, including its objectives and the benefits of participation. The facilitators then engaged the students in an interactive discussion on how they could leverage this platform to showcase their talents and bring forward innovative ideas to solve community or societal issues.
A key part of the workshop was the Design Thinking module, where students were divided into teams and given tasks to solve collaboratively. The design thinking process was structured into the following five stages:
- Empathize: Understanding user needs and behaviours
- Define: Identifying specific challenges to be addressed
- Ideate: Generating creative and practical solutions
- Prototype: Sketching ideas into potential product designs
- Test: Sharing ideas and gathering feedback for improvement
This hands-on session allowed students to apply their creativity and critical thinking in real-time.
