PRIME’s first Bootcamp for the 4th Cohort brought together a group of entrepreneurs from across Meghalaya—representing Khasi, Jaintia, Ri-Bhoi, and Garo Hills. Held on April 4th and 5th, 2024, at PRIME Startup Hub in Shillong, this two-day event was designed to equip and connect these entrepreneurs as they start their journeys.
Day 1: Community and Vision
The event began with a talk by Smti. Isawanda Laloo, IAS, Executive Director of MBMA, who spoke about the potential of innovation to tackle local challenges. Her encouragement energized the entrepreneurs, urging them to make the most of PRIME’s resources and the network of peers around them.
Mentor Pankaj Baruah from IIMCIP led ice-breaking activities, creating a friendly atmosphere and fostering collaboration. Sessions led by IIMCIP’s CEO, Subhrangshu Sanyal, and COO, Pranjal Konwar then introduced key concepts for building a successful venture—vision, storytelling, purpose, and goal-setting. By the end of Day 1, participants were eager to apply these insights and deepen their exploration of entrepreneurship.
Day 2: Strategy, Segmentation, and Support
On the second day, the sessions became more hands-on. Pankaj Baruah introduced the “Ladder of Success,” a roadmap to growing a startup. Along with Pranjal Konwar, he guided entrepreneurs through the essentials of customer segmentation, equipping them with tools to target their audiences effectively. Practical assignments, supported by IIMCIP mentors, allowed participants to refine their purpose, goals, and customer segments. Insights into growth strategies provided a clear path for expansion.
The bootcamp concluded with one-on-one mentoring sessions, where each entrepreneur received tailored advice to address specific challenges. This personal guidance helped solidify their strategies and boosted their confidence.
Leaving the bootcamp, Cohort 4 entrepreneurs carry practical skills, strategic insights, and a support network. With PRIME’s ongoing guidance, they are ready to bring their ideas to life and contribute to Meghalaya’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
