The Northeast Woolen Expo 2024 was held from February 3rd to February 9th, 2024, in Guwahati. This special event was hosted by ICAR-NINFET, the Indian Institute for Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology from Kolkata, in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce, North East Region.
Entrepreneurs from PRIME Meghalaya took part in this 7-day Expo, where they displayed their unique woolen products. The purpose of the Northeast Woolen Expo is to grow India’s textile business by giving small entrepreneurs the chance to show their skills, connect with buyers, and learn more about the textile industry.
During the Expo, Mr. G. S. Bhatti, Executive Director of the Central Wool Development Board, praised the quality of PRIME entrepreneurs’ woolen products. Impressed by their work, he requested samples to take to Delhi. Mr. Bhatti also expressed interest in showcasing these products in future exhibitions, opening the door for more business opportunities.
This recognition is a proud moment for our PRIME entrepreneurs, who continue to represent our region’s skills and creativity in wool and textile products.
