PRIME hosted the Chief Minister’s E-Championship Conclave 2021 in Shillong a few days back, which marked the Graduation Ceremony of the Cohort 1 Entrepreneurs of 2020 and the On-boarding of the Cohort 2 Entrepreneurs of 2021.
While Smt. Catherine Dohling founder of The North East Store and one of the Top-50 Entrepreneurs of PRIME Cohort 1, gave the welcome note, Dr. Subhrangshu Sanyal, CEO, IIMCIP, enlightened the guests and the audience on how the incubation support will benefit the budding entrepreneurs of the state. Thereafter, Shri. Flo Oberhofer, Program Head of PRIME Startup Hub, explained the PRIME incubation process, and Shri. Gaurav Kapoor, CBDO, IIMCIP, nudged the entrepreneurs of both cohort 1 and 2 into a quick team-building activity.
After the lunch and networking session, Shri. Raymond R. Lyngdoh, founder of Rynsan Creation (Savourit), Smt. Shidalin Marbaniang, founder of Syntu Sanitary Pads, and Shri. Badal Nyalang, founder of Marketing Wire, shared their respective success stories, especially their entrepreneurial journey for over a year with PRIME. Dr. Vijay Kumar, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary of Planning, Government of Meghalaya, threw light on PRIME’s one-year journey and its vision ahead.
Further, the Honourable Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri. Conrad K. Sangma felicitated the Cohort 1 Entrepreneurs with Certificates of Graduation and Cohort 2 Entrepreneurs with Certificates of On-boarding and cheques (1 lakh each for the Top-25 Entrepreneurs and 50,000 each for the next 25 Entrepreneurs).
The Chief Minister also launched the Entrepreneur Portal of the PRIME website and the PRIME Annual Booklet 2021. He then went on to talk about his own entrepreneurial journey when he started his business venture in the late 1990s and how the hardships that he had faced back then inspired him to promote entrepreneurship in the state and support the local aspiring entrepreneurs. He emphasized the importance of having a passion and a purpose in life in order to achieve something worthwhile.
The conclave wrapped with vote of thanks offered by Shri. D. D. Shira, MCS, Director MIE and a high-tea networking session among the mentors and the entrepreneurs.
